JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - As an effort to form a profile of BPK PENABUR graduates, namely Be Tough, Excel Worldwide, Share with Society, Trust in God (BEST), 7th grade students in BPK PENABUR junior high schools have taken part in the Jamboree Rally. The number of participants in the jamboree reached 2,372 students from 17 SMPK PENABUR schools, with the theme "Embracing Diversity".

Hariyati Dian, Chairperson of the SMPK PENABUR Jamboree Rally, said that through the theme "Embracing Diversity", students were invited to get to know each other, learn from each other and share with each other so that the BEST character was expected to materialize.

"This theme was deliberately raised to see diversity and culture. Participants will later gain experience after participating in the Jamboree so that they know many things and are independent," Dian told Netralnews on Thursday (6/20/2019).

During the opening ceremony, Dian also reported that the Jamboree Rally was held on June 20-21, 2019 at Graha Wisata Pramuka (Buperta) Cibubur campground. Apart from thousands of participants, there were also 276 council students and 261 accompanying teachers.

"Activities during the Jamboree are village visits to recognize dances, folk songs, traditional food and games of various regions, as well as scouting techniques and art performances," said Dian who is also Deputy Principal of Gading Serpong SMPK PENABUR Student Field.

The village visit presents Aceh, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, North Sulawesi, Papua, and cultures from other parts of Indonesia which are presented in the form of mini villages. The mini villages are presented complete with a variety of cultures created and exhibited by students.

"There is also a BEST village. In BEST Camping, there are various kinds of games and education on various knowledge, as well as various reading books," she said.

Subsequent reading books will be donated to Science Resources Reading Park, Cidokom Village, Kopo Village, Cisarua, Bogor. Dian emphasized that the books collected were story books that did not contain negativity, and were not political.

"We as the organizing committee apologize if there are shortcomings in the implementation of this activity because we realize that what we are doing is still far from perfect," said Dian.
