JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian singer Armand Maulana, together with the Sundanese Artists Association (GASS), have conducted an auction of personal items. Proceeds from the auction will be given to the victims of layoffs and small economic communities affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
"Well, we from GASS see many people who were indirectly affected by Covid-19, such as employees who were laid off and also small communities who are now facing more difficulty to make a living because of this outbreak," Armand said on Wednesday (04/08/2020).
For the auction, Armand chose his personal items which he rarely uses but are still in best condition.
"As a singer, I have a lot of clothes that are only used once or twice but are not used anymore. Usually I would give the clothes to my family," said the lead singer of GIGI.
"Well, yesterday, because there was a #GassPeduli activity, I thought, why didn't I hold a garage sale and the results were raised for fundraising," he added.
On the first day, Armand successfully sold some of his clothes and jackets, and also his favorite pair of shoes, which were each sold for IDR4 million and IDR23 million.
Armand will once again hold an auction with Kevin Sanjaya, a national badminton champion athlete, who will auction off the badminton rackets and jerseys that Kevin uses.
The auction will be held through Armand's Instagram account @armandmaulana04 at 20:00 Indonesian Western Time.
