JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Eighty-nine years ago, Indonesian youths gathered in Batavia (Jakarta) to express their stance on one Indonesia. They believed in one country, one nation, one unity language, Indonesia.
That is the Youth Pledge and today we commemorate this day as one of Indonesia's national day.
I see this is amazing in terms of substance and methodology. Substantially this Youth Pledge shows that the young Indonesians at that time had a vision far ahead, through time and space.
They realize that one Indonesia must be made an oath to continue forever. In the past and present, the essence of Indonesia one is still important.
In terms of methods, they gathered in Batavia when things were not so easy now. Of course at that time there was no land line telephones, especially smart phones with various applications and medsos that we feel today.
But they can gather and congress and produce a very pithy concept. Of course their transportation was based on land and sea, which took a long time to arrive in Batavia.
What drives them together is that of one vision, one Indonesia. I am sure all that because there is an element of love, sincerity, and discipline. Otherwise, it is impossible for Indonesian youth from all corners of the archipelago to gather at one point. In essence, if there is a desire there is always a way, man jadda wa jada.
On the basis of that celebrate the Youth Pledge Day among the academic community of Higher Education and High School is very important to do. However, the commemoraton should be done not in ceremonial or ceremonial action.
But other creations that need to be useful. That is why Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI) celebrated it in the form of a mixture of ceremonies and concrete actions. Namely the release of birds, the making of biopore infiltration (LRB), selfie competition, and acoustic competitions.
UAI students and students of SMAI Al Azhar in Jakarta and Bekasi gathered in the courtyard of the Al Azhar educational complex. After the ceremony, they listened to the explanation of LRB from its direct initiator, Pak Kamir R Brata, lecturer of IPB and Pak Gatut Susanta Chair of the 5 million LRB Bogor Movement Team. Then they try to make LRB in place that has been prepared.
The meaning of this movement is nothing but a proof of youth concern for environmental sustainability. Choosing LRB, in addition to easy to have elements of community empowerment in a narrow time.
In a single break, there can be made hundreds or even thousands of LRBs. To make one LRB only takes about 5 minutes, so in 30 minutes it can form about 6 LRB. This means that if there are 100 participants in the event, they will form 600 LRB within 30 minutes.
Imagine if all high schools and universities held a real action in commemorating the Youth Pledge Day, will undoubtedly be made millions of LRB. Real actions as a form of unity and togetherness is what should be done in educational institutions.
The benefits of LRB are similar to the benefits of forest ecosystems, able to absorb and store water in the soil. It will also enrich the biota in the soil, as there are food sources in the presence of organic ingredients incorporated into the LRB.
God's creatures who have been short of food, will be very happy because there is food. It is natural that they pray for human good. In essence, if we protect nature, then nature will protect us.
The release of the birds we do, the meaning that the living thing has its place. If they are in nature unconstrained, then there will be a balance ecosystem. That is why we at Al Azhar make use of Youth Pledge Day to increase our sense of concern for the environment.
The contemporary elements in the Youth Pledge are answered with swafoto (selfie) and acoustic competitions. The art world with technology must be united.
In addition to avoiding the dry atmosphere, also to cultivate the imagination and creativity. The youth can take action to care for the environment and able to create cultural arts.
As for the snack, on the occasion the basis is the decoction of the crops such as cassava, yam, and banana. The drink is a folk drink, which is bajigur.
