JAKARTA, NNC - Kenyan runners David Kibet and Kigen Peninah won 10K male and female categories of MILO Jakarta International 10K championship in Rasuna Epicentrum area, Jakarta on Sunday.
David Kibet who is in the men's sector became the best after finishing the fastest with a time of 29 minutes 51 seconds while Peninah recorded a time of 35 minutes 11 seconds. Especially for Indonesian runners there are the names of Ridwan with a time of 31 minutes 37 seconds and for the women there is Odekta Elvina Naibaho with time 37 minutes 03 seconds.
"The result here meets my target which is finishing in 29 minutes. It took three months to reach this result because at last year's championship I only finished sixth. Hopefully next year I can win again here (Jakarta)," David Kibet said in his official statement, Sunday (7/15/2018).
The best results were also presented by 10K champion of Indonesian women runner, Odekta Elvina Naibaho. According to her, what she has achieved is the result of hard work and became the gift for Jakarta 491th anniversary.
"I finally won MILO Jakarta International 10K 2018. I dedicate this victory for 491th anniversary of Jakarta. Hopefully this activity will increasingly foster the love of citizens to keep moving actively through running," said Odekta.
This international championship did not only contest the 10K, but also 5K, students and family category. The total participants of this annual championship reached 16,000 participants.
Meanwhile, Vice Governor of Jakarta Sandiaga Uno on the sidelines of the opening of the championship assessed the implementation of the activity increased. It also does not miss to thank the sponsors who support the international championship.
