NANNING, NETRALNEWS.COM - Praveen Jordan claimed to have a premonition if he and Melati Daeva Oktavianti had to go down in the fifth match to win the quarter-finals against Taiwan in the 2019 Sudirman Cup, Friday (05/24/2019).

"When I knew it was behind 1-2, even though I wanted to win 3-0. But if my 3-0 history with Meli would not be there," Praveen said after defeating Taiwan's mixed doubles Wang Chi-Lin/Hsieh Pei Shan.

"It's just that after Greysia and Apriyani won, how come I was nervous ... I was nervous but brave too," said Praveen.

The Indonesian women's doubles pair equalized 2-2 in the fourth party so Praveen/Melati became Indonesia's ultimate weapon and within 50 minutes it was able to dampen the Taiwanese pair 21-17 21-15.

Praveen / Melati appeared more confident in their second match at the Guangxi Sports Center Gymnasium, Nanning, China. It was precisely the Taiwanese couple who were nervous and lost many valuable points because of the return of the immature ball thanks to difficult balls from Praveen / Melati.

"We are more prepared than the first day, but everything can happen," Praveen said as quoted by Antara.

One of the things that supports the calm of the game Praveen/Melati is to put aside all the burdens in the deciding match.

"There is a bit of tension because this is a determinant. They must be the same. But we don't think about it, we try to play as much as possible and win as much as possible," Melati said.

With that victory, Indonesia will face Japan, who beat Malaysia 3-0 in the other quarter-final round on the same day.
