PARIS, NETRALNEWS.COM - Thomas Tuchel has received a contract extension until 2021 by Paris St. Germain. This also ends speculation about the future of the German coach who had been rumored to be replaced next season.

Previously, Tuchel only contracted until 2020. However, PSG gave an additional one-year contract because it was considered able to bring the club to a positive direction in its debut season.

Tuchel was only able to present one trophy this season, the Ligue 1 champion. While the rest Les Perisiens only became the runner-up of the Coupe de France, and were eliminated in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The lack of a trophy from Tuchel is what makes his future speculated. A number of top coaches are said to be replacing them such as Massimiliano Allegri and Jose Mourinho. In fact, PSG actually added the duration of the coach's contract.

"I am very happy and proud of the contract extension and my commitment to Paris St. Germain," Tuchel said as reported by ESPNFC.

"Thank you to the president and the whole club for the trust they showed me and my staff. This will only strengthen my goal to bring this team to the top ambitions thanks to the cooperation of everyone. I am also very touched by the support of the fans. I am sure the best thing is still coming for our club. "

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi said he was very happy that Tuchel would sign his new contract. According to Nasser, the club still believes Tuchel's cold hands will bring PSG even more victories.

"The whole Paris St. Germain family is happy today after seeing Thomas Thuchel extend his contract," PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.

"During this year, Thomas has brought fantastic energy every day, not only to the players, but also to the whole club. Thomas has expertise in this game and a talented manager who is very great and we are happy," he concluded.
