PARIS, NETRALNEWS.COM - Alexander Zverev continues his campaign at the 2019 French Open Grand Slam by advancing to the quarter-finals. He will challenge first seed and world best player Novak Djokovic on Wednesday (5/6/2019) local time.

The two players have met in four FedEx ATP Head2Head matches. Djokovic won 3-1, but Zverev won their only clay court contest in the 2017 Internazional BNL d'Italia final in Rome which became its first ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

Zverev advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Fabio Fognini 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (5) in the fourth round on Tuesday (4/6/2019).

"I didn't start (the match) well. Fognini played very aggressively, hit the ball very hard and made him reply. But then after the first set, I played three very good and solid sets. I was happy to be in the quarter-finals," said the tennis player. Germany was quoted from atptour.com.

In that match, Zverev saved seven of nine break points against Fognini.

The result was Zverev's first Top 25 victory at the Grand Slam, so his record has now won eight consecutive matches, which comes from the Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open on May 25.
