LONDON, NETRALNEWS.COMFormer manager of Manchester United (MU), Jose Mourinho again made a controversial statement. Mourinho, who does not have a job, said he wanted to train a national team competing in the World Cup.

After being sacked by the Red Devils in December 2018, Mourinho has not trained yet. Mourinho was sacked by MU after the club was inconsistent since the start of the 2018/2019 season.

A number of clubs had wanted him to become a coach but Mourinho refused. The former Real Madrid coach also prefers to be an observer on several television stations.

"I want to compete in the new competition. I think about the World Cup and European Cup," Mourinho said to Eleven Sports, as quoted from Sportbible.

Mourinho claimed he had long had the desire to train the national team, which was a new adventure for the 56-year-old coach. For Mourinho, at this time he prioritized training the national team rather than handling the club.

"Is Portugal the right team for me? Not necessarily," Mourinho said.

Mourinho, born in Setubal, provided conditions for the club or national team to train. For Mourinho, only the club or national team can convince him who will get the finish.

"I want to be happy, I don't have to win. I want to be happy and I don't want to accept the unsecured proposal, that's what I always think about," Mourinho said.

As quoted by Yahoo Sports, Mourinho's name began rumored to be going to train the United States national team. Although at this time the US national team is still trained by Gregg Berhalter.

Mourinho was linked with the United States national team because the former Inter Milan coach often made the US the location of preseason tours and had the desire to train the Major League Soccer club.
