PARIS, NETRALNEWS.COM - Not dazzled by the pile of money, Edinson Cavani actually prefers Atletico Madrid over Manchester United.
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker is widely reported to have agreed to a bid of £ 10 million a year offered by Atletico Madrid.
Cavani, now 32, is free to leave the elite French League club, as his contract with PSG will expire at the end of the season.
Manchester United, along with Chelsea, are both interested in the Uruguayan, although Atletico Madrid finally got Cavani.
The Old Trafford club is experiencing a striker crisis. This is one of the motives of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's club in recruiting Cavani.
Marcus Rashford has suffered a back injury for the past three months. He has been filling the slot as a striker at Manchester United.
As a result, Cavani failed to move closer to Old Traford, although Manchester United offered a contract proposal worth £ 10 million per year plus bonuses which were quite fantastic.
Foot Mercato reports Atletico Madrid offered the same amount.
Cavani refused the contract offer submitted by Manchester United. He did not fly to Manchester, but flew to the Spanish capital.
PSG sporting director Leonardo said, "We always say the same thing to Cavani."
"We hope that he will remain at the club. He has asked to leave. We continue to weigh and study the situation," he said.
"I'm not sure Cavani will be here in February. We will see how it goes in the next few days. We will continue to listen to Cavani because we continue to respect him." said Leonardo.
