JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Paul Pogba has explained the reason for wearing a Juventus kit during training, amid rumors he will return to the Italian League giant.
The French national team midfielder took advantage of his own self-quarantine time in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and he even conducted physical training to maintain his fitness at home accompanied by his teammate at Manchester United, Victor Lindelof.
During the training, Pogba was seen wearing his former club's jersey, but he denied this was related to the matter of the transfer.
The 27-year-old midfielder stated that he only wanted to provide support to his compatriot and Juve football player Blaise Matuidi, who was tested positive for COVID-19.
"Support our Juventus and Sampdoria friends @blaisematuidiofficiel, @albinekdal and all athletes and people around the world who are going through this difficult time," Pogba wrote on his Instagram account, as quoted by Mirror on Thursday (3/19).
"Stay strong, #StayAtHome and take care."
"The new training camp is called ... Quarantine PP Arena, open 24/7!"
"It's great to be able to practice at home with my brother @victorlindelof!"
"I know they will talk about the Juventus kit, I am only support my friends ... that's all, nothing more," added Pogba.
Pogba has not played for United since the victory against Newcastle United on Boxing Day last December. He has only played eight times this season.
Juventus are still interested in recruiting their former player back, but they must compete with Real Madrid.
Manchester United has set a price tag of 180 million pounds (around IDR3.29 trillion) for Pogba.
