JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Travel agents and media from Singapore and Thailand have been invited to take part in the Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) activities in several destinations in East Java, April 30 - May 5, 2019.

According to Deputy Assistant of Marketing Development I Regional I of the Indonesia Ministry of Tourism, Dessy Ruhati, this Famtrip event is ongoing with the Majapahit Travel Fair held on May 4, 2019 in Surabaya.

"It is hoped that through this activity, Famtrip participants can get collaborative partners to sell East Java tour packages to tourists or expatriates in Singapore and Thailand through the B to B Majapahit Travel Fair event," Dessy Ruhati told media in Jakarta on Sunday (5/5). 2019).

Dessy said, the Famtrip was also supported by the Banyuwangi Government and was attended by 23 Travel Agents (TA) / Tour Operators (TO) and Media consisting of 11 Singapore participants (9 TA / TO, 1 Media, 1 VITO) and 12 participants from Thailand (10 TA / TO, 1 Media, 1 VITO) with the intended destination starting from Ijen Crater, Mount Bromo, Red Beach, to the Trabas Forest (De Djawatan).

This famtrip is also an effort to promote tourism in the special interests of adventure or adventure in East Java to the markets of Singapore and Thailand.

"Not only is the beauty of nature in East Java charming, we also want to raise the adventure destination here as a focus of interest in this journey of introduction, "said Dessy.

Moreover, Dessy continued, Singapore and Thailand are potential markets to work on. Border tourism (cross border tourism) is carried out by working on the market in the border region of the country has the potential to be visited by more tourists from neighboring countries because it has geographical proximity.

That way, tourists are easier, faster and cheaper to reach destinations in Indonesia.

Ministry of Tourism targets Singapore to contribute 4 million foreign tourists visiting Indonesia during 2019.
