Social Affairs Minister Helps Sell Merchandise of People with Disabilities

CIBINONG, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini has pitched in to help with the sales of merchandise from people with disabilities. The merchandise, ranging from shoes to biscuits, were sold out in just a few minutes.
"It's for sale, it's on sale, for IDR200,000, IDR300,000. On sale, who wants to buy?," asked Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, while lifting the shoes high in front of the audience at the inauguration of the ATENSI Creative Center (SKA) at the Ciung Wanara Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities in Cibinong, Bogor (06/12/2021).
Shortly after the Minister of Social Affairs lifted a pair of shoes, the buyer was immediately greeted. She then lifted another pair or shoes, and it was bought immediately after that, sold out. Risma then offered a box of biscuits, which was also quickly bought by a buyer.
"I think I am better at being a salesperson," said the Minister of Social Affairs to a boisterous applause from the audience. Apparently there is something interesting that makes buyers enthusiastic. On every item sold, there is the signature of the Minister of Social Affairs. Thus, the buyers were still happy even after spendingIDR200,000-IDR300,000 on the merchandise.

Earlier today, the Minister of Social Affairs inaugurated the ATENSI Creative Center at the Ciung Wanara Mental Disability Social Rehabilitation Center in Cibinong, Bogor. Present on this occasion were Echelon 1 officials within the Ministry of Social Affairs, members of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, as well as Bogor Regent Ade Yasin.
"The establishment of SKAs is aimed to increase entrepreneurship and vocational skills of the centers' beneficiary recipients, create job opportunities, and improve the social welfare of beneficiaries. That way, people with disabilities also have the same opportunity," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
