Social Affairs Minister Inaugurates ATENSI Creative Center at LKS Kumala in Tanjung Priok

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini has inaugurated the ATENSI Creative Center (SKA) of the Kumala Foundation for Social Welfare Institution (LKS) at Sungai Bambu, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The expansion of this SKA is to encourage the empowerment of scavengers through strengthening entrepreneurship.
"Today I received an invitation from the Kumala LKS. We deliberately expand this SKA to become a place to sell as well as to open learning facilities (entrepreneurship) for the community," said Social Minister Risma, Monday (11/8/2021)
The SKA at the Kumala Foundation LKS is the eleventh SKA that has been opened and inaugurated by the Minister of Social Affairs. This SKA is a place for scavengers assisted by LKS to exhibit and sell various handicrafts from recycled waste, such as handicrafts made from wood waste, recycled paper crafts, and others.
Chairman of the LKS Foundation Kumala Dindin Komarudin said the Ministry of Social assistance was a form of community synergy with the government in an effort to handle social problems in the community.

"This shows the synergy between the community and the government. We LKS as representatives of the community believe that if we work together, God willing, problems in the community can be solved together," said Dindin.
This is in line with the ATENSI Scavenger Program which provides job placement assistance, population registration, vaccination of neglected groups, as well as vocational training and entrepreneurship assistance.
The Kumala Foundation together with other LKS, namely LKS Swara, LKS Sekar, LKS, Balarenik, and LKS Erbe are LKS that organize social empowerment programs for scavengers including vocational training in recycling waste processing and handicrafts, training on wood lathes, waste banks, children's tutoring scavengers, plastic waste management, creative houses, and others.
On the same occasion, the Ministry of Social Affairs also handed over a number of Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) assistance with a total value of IDR520,982,000 which was intended for 108 orphans worth IDR71,400,000; entrepreneurship assistance for Kumala LKS worth IDR106,095,000; LKS Education Religion Be Entertaintment (ERBE) worth IDR96,750,000; LKS Swara Peduli Indonesia worth IDR 84,037,000; LKS Sekar worth IDR90,700,000; and LKS Akur Kurnia worth IDR72,000,000.
Present at the event were Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Harry Hikmat, Director General of Handling the Poor Asep Sasa Purnama, Chair of Committee III DPD Sylviana Murni, Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social Service.
