DENPASAR, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited the disaster site and distributed aid for landslide survivors in Bangli. To ease some of the burden on the survivors, the Ministry of Social Affairs provided death compensation for three heirs of the dead and nine who were injured.

Early in the morning, the Minister of Social Affairs and her entourage visited three injured victims who were still undergoing treatment at Bangli Hospital. The group then moved to Lake Batur, North Penelokan Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency.

Riding a fast boat, the Minister of Social Affairs and her entourage crossed Lake Batur to the earthquake site in Trunyan Village. The Minister of Social Affairs spoke with village leaders and local communities. From their explanation, it was revealed that the geographical condition of the village was indeed at the bottom of the hill that lined the village.

There are at least eight landslide-prone points. Learning from the handling of the landslide in Luwu, South Sulawesi, the Minister of Social Affairs plans to build a social granary (buffer stock) that contains food and fuel oil.

"So if at any time a disaster occurs, the residents will still have their food needs met. To the Regent, please help in preparing the location," said Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, as in a written statement received by Netralnews, on Monday (10/18/2021).

Present to accompany the Minister of Social Affairs were Bangli Regent Sedana Arta, member of Commission VIII at the House of Representatives I Gusti Ngurah Kesuma Kelakan, Regional Representatives Council member Anak Agung Gde Agung, echelon I officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Special Staff of the Minister of Social Affairs, and relevant regional officials.

Furthermore, to minimize the impact of the disaster, the Minister of Social Affairs also asked for tents to be set up as evacuation points.

"You don't have to wait for landslides. If it rains heavily, evacuate immediately to the tents," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

In Trunyan Village, the Minister of Social Affairs distributed children's food, blankets, and red mattresses. From here, the Minister of Social Affairs and her entourage moved to the second disaster location, namely Banjar Jati Tuhu, Ban Village, Kubu District, Karangasem Regency.

Here, the Minister of Social Affairs observed the conditions of the disaster site and greeted the residents affected by the disaster. The Minister of Social Affairs also provided assistance in the form of logistical assistance, children's food, mattresses, and red mattresses.

To ease the burden on the community, the Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed logistical assistance, compensation for the heirs of the deceased and assistance for the injured.

Prior to the arrival of the Minister of Social Affairs, logistical assistance had been distributed to Bangli Regency from the Bangli Regency logistics warehouse in the form of five red mattresses, 32 packages of children's food, 10 red blankets, 10 packages of family kits.

Logistics assistance has also been distributed before the Minister of Social Affairs came from the Karangasem Regency Warehouse in the form of 20 packages of children's food, 20 packages of red blankets, 20 packages of mattresses, 20 packages of family kits, 20 packages of rolled tents, 20 packages of mattresses, 2 packages of kids ware.

Logistics assistance distributed during the Social Minister's visit came from the Bali Provincial Warehouse to the Bangli Regency Social Service in the form of 120 packages of children's food, 30 sheets of mattresses, 30 blankets, 30 mattresses, 50 rolls of tents, 30 packages of family kitchen utensils, 30 packages of family kits, kids ware 30 packages, foodware 30 packages.

The logistical assistance distributed during the visit of the Minister of Social Affairs came from the Bali Province Warehouse to the Social Service Office of Karangasem Regency.

The aid are in the form of 120 packages of children's food, 60 sheets of mattresses, 60 sheets of blankets, 20 units of mattresses, 50 rolls of tents, 30 packages of family kitchen utensils, 30 packages of family kit, 30 packages of kids ware, 30 packages of foodware, 1 unit of multipurpose tent. The total value for all logistical assistance is IDR 248,189,122.

In addition, during this visit, the Minister of Social Affairs also handed over compensation to the heirs symbolically. Namely, for 2 people who died in Bangli, with compensation of IDR30,000,000 (@ IDR 15,000,000). Compensation for serious injuries for 3 people reaches IDR15,000,000 (@5,000,000).

The compensation for the heirs for 1 person who died in Karangasem Regency is IDR15,000,000. Compensation for serious injuries for 3 people is at IDR15,000,000 (@Rp. 5,000,000). Compensation for minor injuries for 3 people reaches IDR6,000,000 (@ IDR 2,000,000). The total value of compensation in both regions is IDR81,000,000. Thus, the total assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of logistical assistance and compensation amounted to IDR329,189,122.

The presence of the Minister of Social Affairs is to ensure that disaster-affected communities receive assistance, including basic assistance. The presence of the Minister of Social Affairs in the midst of disaster survivors is a form of quick response and the presence of the state in the midst of citizens who are facing trials due to disasters.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has been present at both locations since the earthquake occurred (10/16/2021). The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA) has coordinated post-disaster management. Through Mahatmiya Bali Center, logistical assistance has been sent for disaster survivors supported by Tagana personnel in its distribution.
