Social Affairs Minister Sends Off Masks and Vitamins Packages for the Poor

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - To stop the spreading of COVID-19, the Ministry of Social Affairs collaborates with social pillars to distribute masks and vitamin packages for the poor and or those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The masks and vitamin packages will be sent through PT Pos Logistics Indonesia, which had been prepared for a long time, but due to problems with the availability of vitamins, they were only launched today," said Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma.
The statement was made by the Minister of Social Affairs at the launching of the Social Assistance for Masks and Vitamins for the Poor and/or Affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic in front of the Aneka Bhakti Building, Salemba, Jakarta, on Friday (08/27/2021) morning.
Risma said the masks and vitamin packages will be distributed through youth organizations in 514 regencies/cities throughout Indonesia in packaged form that are ready for distribution.

"For each district/city, they get 1,270 packages or IDR50 million, and each package contains seven masks plus vitamins C, D and Zinc," she said.
The idea of distributing masks and vitamins from youth organizations came from after holding a video conference with all youth organizations throughout Indonesia, and it has been conveyed how important the involvement of social pillars is in an effort to stop the spreading of COVID-19.
"Yes, before that, we would like to thank the Jakarta Youth Organization for helping pack masks and vitamins so that they have to work overtime," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Earlier, the Minister of Social Affairs recommended to youth organizations to distribute masks and vitamins not directly at crossroads, but per sub-district, as apart from being considered unhealthy, it also avoided the potential for crowds of people.
To speed up the distribution of mask and vitamin packages, the Ministry of Social Affairs will also send it to the youth organizations' secretariat addresses, and if there is no other alternative, it can be through the Social Services offices in each area.
"We give a role for young people to make a real contribution to the nation and country that are in need of a spirit of mutual cooperation in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
On this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs symbolically sent off the PT Pos Indonesia box car which was dispatched to send masks and vitamin packages to three provinces, namely West Java, Banten, and Jakarta.
