TUBAN, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini says the Indonesian government distributed various social aid to ease the burden on the public in dealing with the pandemic. However, assistance cannot be provided continuously, as the government has limitations.

"The assistance that you receive is to ease the burden due to activity restrictions. However, it cannot be sustainable, as the government has limitations," said Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, while witnessing the distribution of social assistance at the Tuban City Post Office, East Java, on Friday (07/23/2021).

For this reason, she asked the people of Tuban and other regions to jointly break the chain of the spreading of COVID-19. "If we don't comply with health protocols, this virus will continue to mutate. We are not finished. We cannot move the economy," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Because if you have contracted the virus, handling it according to health protocols is more difficult. According to the Minister of Social Affairs, the increasing number of COVID-19 infections is not accompanied by supporting resources.

"Health personnel are limited, medical equipment, including medicines, are also not sufficient, and hospital capacity is limited, and so on. So that must be considered," she said.

To the media, the Minister of Social Affairs admitted that the government aid of 5 kg of rice for one family per month may not be enough. "Since the goal is to ease some of the burden on the community, that's what the state can afford," said the Minister of Social Affairs in her official statement.

Risma ensured that assistance was not only from the central government, as local governments also provides assistance. "Although, it is not an easy matter because of budget constraints experienced by all agencies. It is also impossible to increase revenues from taxes," he said.

So on this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs strongly requested that the public strictly adhere to the health protocols.

Tuban Regency received 5 kg of rice assistance with an allocation of 3,000 packages. Assistance is given to marginalized groups affected by the pandemic.

For Beneficiary Families (KPM) Cash Social Assistance (BST) that received assistance from the Tuban Post Office reaches 120 receivers in Batu Retno Village, and 177 receivers in Sendang Harjo Village, with an index of IDR600,000/KPM.
