LEBAK, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini has directed the entire staff of the ministry to respond to social problems in the public. One of them was a fire in the Outer Baduy settlement in the Cepak Huni Village area, Kanekes Village, Leuwi Damar District, Lebak Regency, Banten.

Following up on the Social Affairs Minister's directive, the Banten Provincial Social Services Office has distributed aid in the form of one ton of rice, 24 red rolled tents, 24 packages of independent kitchen equipment, 24 packages of children's food, 468 packages of ready-to-eat food, and 6 packages of kids wear.

Head of the Social Protection and Security Division of the Banten Province Social Service, Tajul Arifin, said that after receiving information on the fire, he immediately dispatched a Disaster Preparedness Team (Tagana) to the scene.

"We together with Tagana went straight to the location of the fire, while at the same time carrying out evacuation efforts, collecting data, and distributing aid to people affected by the fire disaster," said Arifin, as in a written statement received by Netralnews, on Friday (10/15/2021).

Disaster analyst at the Directorate of Social Protection for Victims of Natural Disasters, Ministry of Social Affairs, Kresno Aji, said at the location of the fire that the handling was carried out properly and optimally in order to adapt to the local wisdom of the local community.

"The aid also consists of clothing needs, the Baduy people must use kampret clothes for men and kebaya for women, there are karembong (long cloth, usually for carrying children-red) and lomar (Lomar or Romal is a typical headband of the Baduy tribe-ed), ' said Krishna.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Lebak, Iti Octavia Jayabaya, said that the Lebak Regency Government was very concerned about the fire disaster that hit the Baduy Tribe community.

"On behalf of the Lebak Regency Government, we would like to thank the Ministry of Social Affairs who were present to distribute aid to the Baduy indigenous people who experienced the disaster. We also hope that the Ministry of Social Affairs can provide housing construction materials for the affected communities," hoped Iti.

Based on information gathered from the location of the fire, it is suspected that the cause of the fire originated from a firebox from one of the residents' houses, then the fire spread quickly because the building construction materials were mostly made of wood, bamboo and leaf roofs, making them very susceptible to fire.

The fire occurred on Wednesday (10/13/2021) afternoon, around 14.00 local time. No less than 16 houses and one unit of Leuit or food house were burnt down, and 85 people or 24 families were forced to evacuate independently.
