JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs has held a National Heroic Scientific Writing Contest as part of efforts to maintain unity and integrity among fellow Indonesian children from Sabang to Merauke, especially for the younger generation, as well as high school students and equivalent. The competition is held online.
"I congratulate the participants who passed the top 10 selection, show your skills during the presentation later on with enthusiasm, like the spirit that is always shown by the heroes in defending our independence," said Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto, on Tuesday (10/26/2021).
Edi said that this year, the Heroic Scientific Writing Competition was attended by 1,665 high school students across Indonesia. The students who participated showed the enthusiasm of the younger generation, especially students, to express their thoughts in writings related to heroism.
"Through this activity, we can provide a forum for students to do positive things in the midst of the onslaught of rapid technological progress, so that if not handled carefully, it will have a negative impact and can even disrupt the integrity of Indonesia," said Edi.

This competition invites students, especially the high school level, to start thinking more critically by contributing ideas for the progress of the nation and state based on the spirit and values of heroism. Also, the writings of the participants will be presented and can be an inspiration for other children of the nation.
“Hopefully the competition will be an inspiration to do the best for the nation and country through real action on the ground. I hope that the young generation of Indonesia, especially students, will become a generation that is tough, never gives up, is willing to sacrifice and have concerns," Edi said.
The Director General of Social Affairs also did not forget to express gratitude and appreciation to the Jury Team from the Universitas Indonesia who had worked hard to select the best manuscripts from each province, so that the 10 best participants were selected for presentations from Bali, Banten, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and West Sumatra.
“Once again I wish you good luck, show your best skills with passion and sportsmanship. Always maintain a sense of unity and oneness. Make the spirit of the hero always swell in the heart. My hero is my inspiration and thank you to the jury," concluded Edi.
