TANGERANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Tangerang City administration is open to cooperating with community groups that want to hold COVID-19 vaccinations, but not the Gotong Royong vaccine program, in meeting the target of vaccinating 17,000 people.

"We have a target of 17,000 people being vaccinated a day to meet the target of one million people being vaccinated nationally in a day. So, if there are institutions/agencies who want to conduct vaccinations, we will help supply the doses," said Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah on Monday (06/28/2021).

However, Arief said that currently the obstacle to mass vaccination activities being carried out is health workers as vaccinators. The health workers at local community health cetners are also tasked with serving patients undergoing treatment at the Concentrated Isolation Homes (RIT) and field examinations.

The Tangerang City government has only received 38 health workers from the Banten Health Polytechnic who will soon be assigned to accelerate vaccinations and field testings.

Arief said the Tangerang City Government holds vaccinations every day at the City Government Center Building and 38 health centers. In addition, TNI/Polri also carry out similar activities with locations in the centers of the crowds.

"Tangerang City residents who want to vaccinate can register or come directly to the Tangerang City Government Center. If they want to organize a group, the City Government will also help," he said.

Earlier, Head of the Tangerang City Health Service Dr. Liza Puspadewi said that there was a target of 17,000 people were vaccinated every day. The municipal government has also opened services for those aged over 18 years.

In addition, the Tangerang City Government has also received additional doses of Sinovac vaccine from Banten Pharmacy for 140,000 targets. The Health Office targets 900,000 targets to have been vaccinated by August 2021. "That's why we open vaccination services every day," said Dr. Liza Puspadewi, as reported by Antara.
