JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Chairperson of Commission VIII at the Indonesian House of Representatives Yandri Susanto says there are no issues with the speaking style of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini. Yandri assessed that what the Minister of Social Affairs was doing was solely to improve poverty data, so that the distribution of aid is right on target, effective, in the right amount, and there really was an improvement.

"I have no issues on Mrs. Risma's style of speaking. What she is doing is solely for data improvement. We know data is a crucial issue. Mrs. Risma is working hard to improve the data so that tens of millions of poor people can receive assistance," Yandri said in a written statement received by Netralnews, on Monday (10/04/2021).

On the other hand, Yandri sees that improvements must be made to stakeholders. Yandri saw that a number of areas had been visited by the Minister of Social Affairs, and it was found that the data was problematic.

While joking, Yandri stated that other areas that the Social Affairs Minister had not visited were deliberately waiting to be scolded.

"So, don't be like that. The incident in Gorontalo was the last thing I hoped for. I make sure that if all the data is good, it's impossible for Mrs. Risma to be angry," he said.

Yandri, a member of the PAN faction, asked stakeholders, namely the local governments to the neighborhood/hamlet level, and the assistants, not to mess with the data.

“At that lower level, let's fix the data. Do not play around. I think if this is done, it will be fine," he said.

Yandri ensured that what the Minister of Social Affairs was doing was a form of responsibility and character of a leader who worked with sincerity.

"We in Commission VIII have a group with Mrs. Risma. If there is a whatsapp message coming in at 2 pm, Mrs. Risma still responds, you know," he said.

Regarding the broad response to the Minister of Social Affairs' visit to Gorontalo, Yandri invited all parties to take the best lessons.

"This is the momentum to improve the Ministry of Social Affairs down to the lower level. The improvement of the Social Welfare Integrated Data (DTKS) needs support from the center to the neighborhood/hamlet level," he said.

Yandri advised that stakeholders such as village heads should not only enter data that are supporters, while not support can not help.

“So all parties must work hard and seriously. I even hope that Mrs. Risma does not change. Because Mrs. Risma has proven that she has been successful for two periods as Mayor of Surabaya," he said.

On a different occasion, member of Commission VIII, Bukhori Yusuf, shared the same opinion. He deeply regrets the DTKS issue that never ends. Many individuals at the district/city and village levels use DTKS for certain purposes.

“This phenomenon is almost all over Indonesia. Therefore, every time the Minister finds a mistake, especially a deviation, she immediately expresses her defense of the poor," he said.
