JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The handling of poverty issues must be synergized between directorates within the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).
"The goal of dealing with poverty is to make the poor become more prosperous," said Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini after the opening of the Ministry of Social Affairs' 2022 Budget Work Plan Research Activity (RKA-K/L) at Aneka Bhakti Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (06/15/2021).
So far, said the Minister of Social Affairs, efforts to tackle poverty are still partial, so that the impact is not seen and felt by the poor.
"If there is synergy between the director generals, it will have an impact on reducing the poverty rate, and the underprivileged people can live better. For that to happen, however, we certainly can't just talk," said Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma.

In dealing with poverty, it is not just data on paper, or making planning figures. "What is more important is the implementation in the field," the Social Affairs Minister said.
"After providing social assistance, what do you do with it, some have been 10 years old, while the recipients are still physically strong. We have to treat it to be empowered," he said.
For example, for the Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH) there is an element of business, so treatment must be given to really get the poor out of poverty immediately.
"It could be that the handling of business assistance in one directorate general and PKH assistance in other directories can work together to quickly get out of their poverty," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
The assistance provided by the Indonesian government to reduce the expenditure of Beneficiary Recipients (PM) include the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) and Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS).
"By reducing the beneficiaries' spending on education and health, the poor will increase their income and quickly get out of poverty," Rusna said.
In addition, another thing that is no less important in dealing with poverty is the need to change the patterns and ways of thinking of program managers and planning.
"It is necessary to change the way of thinking in poverty management programs and planning, because it will affect the government's targets," he said.
At the social centers , it was initially difficult to market the products produced, but after the presence of the Atensi Creation Center (SKA), various products could be marketed.
"At SKA there are exhibition rooms, and the beneficiaries there are taught how to package products well, and there is branding, so that they increase the selling price and become additional income," concluded the Minister of Social Affairs.
