JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini has taken seriously to several cases of aid distribution on the ground that were indicated as not complying with the principles of transparency and accountability. The Minister of Social Affairs acts decisively to ensure that the rights of beneficiaries are fulfilled, especially in an emergency like today.

As it is known, Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, has intensively carried out field checks in the distribution of aid in several areas. In one trip, the Minister of Social Affairs was able to visit two or three cities to take in information from beneficiaries in the relevant cities.

During a visit, the Minister of Social Affairs found several cases where commodity prices, packaging, and others, were too high.

"It is is being processed. At the Ministry of Social Affairs, we will conduct an ethics trial. This is also being handled by the police," Risma said in Jakarta, on Friday (07/30/2021).

This firm attitude was carried out to ensure that the recipients of air, who are mostly poor, received assistance in accordance with their rights. The Minister of Social Affairs wants to ensure that no one party takes advantage of the distribution of aid for purposes other than the interests of the beneficiaries.

"These people really need the assistance. Moreover, some of the receivers had to pay a higher price, or the goods they got did not match their needs, for example by packaging the aid," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

It was seen in several field visits that the Minister of Social Affairs showed a firm attitude. At the point where the Minister of Social Affairs met with the beneficiaries, the Minister of Social Affairs did not hesitate to ask in detail all matters related to the provision of commodities for Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT)/Staple Food Cards.

On such occasions, Social Affairs Minister Risma called assistants, regional heads, social services, Himbara representatives, suppliers, and related parties. The Minister of Social Affairs conducts cross-checks if it is felt that there is a discrepancy in the distribution of aid. This was done by the Minister of Social Affairs, for example, during a visit to Pekalongan City.

On that occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs had a long dialogue with Rudiyanto (48). The Minister of Social Affairs explores to ensure that the prices of food commodities purchased at E-Warong must be at reasonable prices.

"KPM also cannot be given goods in packages. Because it doesn't necessarily suit their needs," said the Minister of Social Affairs accompanied by Pekalongan Mayor A. Afzan Arslan Djunaidi.

The Minister of Social Affairs seemed unable to hide his disappointment because he found that the prices of goods were expensive and the goods were also given in packages to KPM BPNT/Sembako Cards.

"I have prepared a system that allows KPM to choose goods according to their needs. Later, E-warong will compete with other stores. It's a pity if poor people get higher prices," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Social Minister Risma asked all parties to oversee the distribution of social assistance by complying with the principles of accountability and budget transparency. The Minister of Social Affairs also invited the Pekalongan City Forkopimda ranks and the local community to jointly break the pandemic chain.

"I ask the regional head to also supervise and ensure that aid recipients receive assistance in accordance with the provisions. Don't reduce it," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
