Two Medical Staff in Guangzhou Exposed to COVID-19

BEIJING, NETRALNEWS.COM - Two medical staff members in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, were exposed to COVID-19, local health authorities announced on Monday night (06/14/2021).
The two medical staff were suspected of being exposed by incidental transmission, according to initial tracking and investigations. However, authorities are still conducting further examinations to determine more specific reasons.
The two cases were discovered when regular PCR tests were carried out among medical staff at Guangzhou No. 8 Hospital, at a time when the city had been hit by sporadic COVID-19 cases since May.
The authorities said that medical personnel from other hospitals had been deployed to the hospital to ensure the smooth running of health services for the public.

The two medical staff at the hospital were placed in one of the hotels for quarantine, and their daily PCR test results were all negative.
In addition, the two members of the medical staff, one from the pathology department and another an ER doctor, are currently in a gradual improvement.
There have been four new cases over the last 24 hours in Guangzhou, China's southernmost city. Since May 21, there have been 146 positive cases in the local communities in Guangzhou.
Guangzhou is one of the cities in China that has become a quarantine place for international flight passengers, as reported by Antara.
